Discovery Rewards Program Basics:

What is the Discovery Rewards program?

Discovery Rewards is our free loyalty program that is designed to reward members for travelling with us. The more members travel with Senior Discovery Tours, the higher their rewards!

Upon enrollment, members will receive a welcome package which includes a welcome letter and two coloured-luggage tags.

To begin receiving rewards, gifts, or savings, you are required to complete one tour (or more) to upgrade to the next level regardless of which reward level you begin the Discovery Rewards program.

Once you have upgraded to the next level, you will receive a $ savings discount towards the next tour you book with us.

Who can sign up?

Our Discovery Rewards program is open only to Canadian residents. In order to register for Discovery Rewards, you will need to create an online account.

Is there a cost to enroll in the Discovery Rewards program?

Not at all! The program is entirely free and designed to reward you for travelling with us. The more you travel, the greater your rewards!

Do previous tours count towards the Discovery Rewards program?

Yes, absolutely! Tours completed since January 1, 2017, will count towards your rewards status.

• If you have travelled with us since January 1, 2017, your level will be higher than newcomers. It will be based on the number of tours you have completed since that time. That means that you start the program at a more “rewarding” level – and from there you can begin rising up the levels, with more rewards and savings accumulating as you travel.

• If you have not completed a tour with SDT since January 1, 2017, you will start the Discovery Rewards program from the beginning as a blue-level member.

How does it work?

There are 5 levels in the program. Each level is solely based on the number of tours you have completed. Every tour you complete counts as 1 tour in the Discovery Rewards program. Each level you achieve brings its own special reward (s), gifts, and/or savings…which get better and bigger the more you travel. You will qualify for these level-specific rewards once you have completed one tour (or more). As your tours add up, we will upgrade your status to the next level accordingly.

What does a DR Member receive when they sign up?

Upon enrollment in the Discovery Rewards program, you will receive:

• A “Welcome Email” indicating your starting level, more information about the program, and a teaser for your next level and the possible rewards that await you.

• A “Welcome Package” by mail delivered within two to three weeks. This package will contain two coloured luggage tags (based on your level upon enrollment) and a welcome letter.

Please note: Our Discovery Rewards luggage tags come in different colours for each distinct level. It’s exciting to receive your new tag as you rise up the levels.

How do I opt out of the Discovery Rewards program?

To opt-out of the Discovery Rewards program, please give us a call at 1-800-268-3492.

Enrollment and Eligibility:

Can Senior Discovery Tour staff enroll clients in the Discovery Rewards program?

Unfortunately, no.

Our staff members can only provide guidance and clear instructions on how you sign up, but we cannot automatically enroll you in the program. This is due to legal privacy policy opt-in requirements. If you require further assistance during the enrollment process, you will have to reach out to someone you trust outside of Senior Discovery Tours.

Am I able to gain points towards any other reward or loyalty program by booking with Senior Discovery Tours?

No. We do not subscribe to any loyalty programs such as Air Miles or Aeroplan. To gain points for these, you might be able to register your Aeroplan or Airmiles at the time of check-in with the airlines directly.

Are my past tours counted towards my Discovery Rewards status?

Have you travelled with SDT since January 1, 2017? If so, then yes! We want to make sure our loyal clients are credited with tours taken since January 1, 2017. For that reason, you will start the program at your respective  earned level based on the number of tours you have completed since 2017.

Important: When you enroll, please make sure to use the same e-mail address we have on file for you from 2017. Remember, the more you travel, the greater your rewards!

If you haven’t travelled with us since BEFORE January 1, 2017, unfortunately, no. Your previous pre-2017 tours will not count towards the new program, and you will start the program from the beginning level as a blue member.

When will I receive my Discovery Rewards gifts?

You will qualify for your gift and receive it in the mail once you have completed one tour (or more). Completing a trip will also upgrade your status to the next level. Our system will credit your online account profile and automatically upgrade your level status upon completion of a tour. Here are some helpful examples of how this works:

EXAMPLE 1: I haven’t completed any tours since January 1, 2017, and my level upon enrollment is “Blue” When will I receive travel rewards? You will receive your rewards when you upgrade to the next level, which is “Silver”.

The Silver level is reached once you have completed two tours. As you have not completed any tour yet, you must wait until you complete two tours to upgrade to the next level.

Once you complete and return from your 2nd tour:

- Your online account will automatically reflect the upgrade to the Silver level 

- You will receive a welcome package in the mail which will include two silver-coloured luggage tags, and the SDT branded gift you have now earned as a Silver member.

EXAMPLE 2:

I have completed 8 tours since January 1, 2017, and my level status upon enrollment is “Platinum” When will I receive my rewards?

You will receive your rewards when you upgrade to the next level, which, in your case, is Diamond.

You will be upgraded to the Diamond level once you have completed 10 tours. As you have completed 8 tours since January 1, 2017, you still must complete two more tours to upgrade to the next level.

Once you complete and return from your 10th tour:

Your online account will automatically reflect the upgrade to our prestigious Diamond level.  You will receive a welcome package in the mail which will include two Diamond-coloured luggage tags, and the lovely rewards you have earned as a Diamond member.

Why haven’t I received my Discovery Rewards "Welcome Package" yet?

Please allow two to three weeks for the delivery of your welcome package. If you did not immediately receive our welcome email, please check your spam folder. Your welcome email may have gone there. You may also want to check with us as your registration may not have been completed.

When creating an online account, can my travelling companion and I use the same email address?

Unfortunately, no. A unique e-mail address is required to set up an online account. The same e-mail address cannot be registered for more than one online account profile. Please note: only one e-mail address can be used per person. The e-mail address you use to enroll must match your e-mail address in our reservation system (If you wish to change your email address or are unsure of which email address you currently have on file, please contact us by phone at 1.800.268.3492 or email: info@stc.ca prior to creating your online account).

Couples or travelling companions that currently have the same e-mail address in our reservation system will need to contact us to update their profile and provide their own unique e-mail addresses before creating an online account. Each travelling companion will need to create their own online account.

Other Loyalty Programs and Rewards:

Am I able to gain points towards any other reward or loyalty program by booking with Senior Discovery Tours?

No. We do not subscribe to any loyalty programs such as Air Miles or Aeroplan. To gain points for these, you might be able to register your Aeroplan or Airmiles at the time of check-in with the airlines directly.

Besides Discovery Rewards, does Senior Discovery Tours offer any other programs?

Along with our Discovery Rewards program, we offer our BlueSky Referrals program. This program rewards both you and the friends and family that you refer to us. To participate in the BlueSky Referrals program, you must first create an online account.

For groups and organizations, we also have a program called, Insider Club Benefits which is designed to offer a commission to clubs and organizations who book travel with Senior Discovery Tours. Please call 1-800-268-3492 or email us at marketing@stc.ca and we will be happy to help set this up for you.

Am I able to register other rewards or loyalty programs with Senior Discovery Tours?

No. We do not subscribe to any loyalty programs such as Air Miles or Aeroplan, so you must register your plan at the time of check-in with the airlines.

Are the gifts different at each tier level?

Yes, absolutely! You will receive a gift appropriately valued for your level. We have chosen some lovely items for you. Once you reach the platinum and diamond levels, these rewards gifts are especially unique!
